YON-KA AGE DEFENSE CREME 93

Hello lovelies! Bit of a different kind of review for you all today, I'm not sure I've ever reviewed a product like this before, but I was recently sent this Yon-Ka Age Defense Creme 93, Balancing Combination Skin - which is a posh name for an anti-ageing moisturiser for combination skin and thought I'd share my thoughts on it. I know what you're thinking, Chloe, you are 18 years old why on earth are you reviewing an anti-ageing cream? Don't get me wrong, if I'm sent a product that I don't like and will not use, I won't review it. I politely let the company know that the product wasn't for me and be done with it, however, despite this definitely not being targeted towards my age range, I am beauty blogger and a beauty therapist. Two things that have given me an overwhelming fear of ever ageing, ever. So if I can get an early start, I'm going to do so. Am I crazy? Maybe. But we'll see who gets the last laugh when I get asked for I.D when I'm 50! Unlikely? Oh.

Anyway, moving on. I was a little concerned about trying this product, as when the weather is a bit warmer as it is right now, my skin does tend to be a little more combination i.e. slightly more oily in places and normal in others, rather than its generally normal type in the cooler months. So, even though this is for combination skin, I thought maybe it might be a little too rich as it is an anti ageing cream. How wrong was I? This is a lovely light moisturiser that sinks in super quickly and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy at all. As for anti-ageing, being 19, I'm not really the best guinea pig for an anti-ageing cream. However, one thing I have noticed is that my makeup doesn't settle into my pores and under eye lines at all really since using this.

This really is great for combination skin, as it's getting towards summer (or not), my skin can go a bit mad. In the warmer weather, I can get oily around my t-zone where the rest of my face will stay pretty normal. This moisturiser is great for that. Its super hydrating on the areas that need it, but it controls the shine on the oilier areas too which is fab. You can read more about this moisturiser on the Yon-Ka websitehere.

What do you think? Would you like to try this moisturiser?

SOAP & GLORY GLOW JOB REVIEW

In my last haul, I featured the Soap & Glory 'Glow Job' moisturiser and decided to do a review on it. First things first, the packaging, as with all Soap & Glory products is gorgeous, I love their pretty pink, vintage style packaging and sometimes slightly scandalous 'punny' names for their products. But pretty packaging aside, it's what'sinsidethat really counts!
This certaintly is a moisturiser with a difference! The difference being the 'bursting bronze beads'. These little beads feel like tiny little grains in the moistursier, and as you can hopefully see in the photo, they begin to burst as you rub it into your skin. There doesn't feel like there are awful lot of the beads within the moisturiser, which made me slightly skeptical at first, but when I started to rub it in and the beads 'burst' I could see the bronzing affect instantly! You do have to be careful to rub this in properly as the bronzing parts can go a little streaky if you don't, so this isn't a moisturiser for those who like a very quick morning routine! That said, it is quite easy to achieve an even look and doesn't take too long, but I definitely don't recommend trying to use this without a mirror! When rubbed in and blended, this product really lives up to its name and leaves a gorgeous, glowy and lightly tanned look to your skin. I have quite light skin and don't find that this is too dark for me, however I think it could be quite a shock if you are super pale!
I tend to use this in the mornings before putting on my make up as the bronzing affect is temporary and almost definitely would rub off onto your sheets at night! However, it does make a fab base for make up as it gives you a lovely sun kissed glow. I would definitely wear this on its own on a good skin day. Even though this seems a bit gimmicky, it actually moisturises really well and leaves my face feeling lovely and soft.
Overall, this is a lovely, light moisturiser that works very well for my normal/ combination skin. I do think this could be a bit too light for those with very dry skin but I do think it's worth a try purely because of how instantly healthy and glowy it makes you look!

What do you think? Would you like to try this?

ANOTHER SOAP & GLORY HAUL?

I know. I'm sorry. I should probably do a Soap & Glory collection post by now, but that might make me a feel a bit guilty so best not. I can't help it though, recently I don't like buying skincare/ body products from any other brand. So as I had some vouchers for double boots card points (any excuse) I decided to grab a few bits and bobs from my beloved brand again today.
I picked up the Rich and Foamous body wash because it smells the same as the Smoothie Star body milk and the Breakfast scrub, they smell like cookies! If you saw my What's In My Shower post (here), you'll know I already have a full bottle of Clean on me in the bathroom, but I couldn't resist. This is £6.50 for a 500ml bottle, which, when you think about it is a really good deal for a good shower gel. Have I convinced you yet? If you haven't smelled this yet, then definitely go give it a sniff Iloveit.
I then got the Scrub Your Nose In It exfoliator as I've heard great things about it. I did actually need a new exfoliator so this one is totally justified ;) This doubles up as a mask too which is great so I'll have to give that a try. I've not got a lot to say about this yet as I only got it today, but I will definitely do a review of this when I've given it a go.
I was running out of moisturiser and wanted to try something different, and Soap & Glory's facial skincare was slightly discounted in boots so I thought I'd give Glow Job a go (hold the giggles). It's a bronzing facial moisturiser so probably not your best bet for a night cream unless you want brown sheets, but I can't wait to give this a try before my make up tomorrow. Again, I'll probably do a review so let me know if you'd like to see that.
And finally, I raved about the Glad Hair Day intensive conditioner in my last post so I thought I'd get a mini bottle of the shampoo to see what I think of it. I love the smell of Glad Hair Day and am very bored with my current shampoo. I'm not too fussy with shampoos, as long as they clean my hair I'm not too worried, however I find some leave my hair more tangley than others, so if I like this I'll definitely get the big bottle.

I really hope Boots put Soap & Glory back on 3 for 2 soon, I'll definitely be stocking up! (like I need to)

Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you'd like full reviews.
