So this is part two of my 'Winter Proof Yourself' mini series and this post is going to be all about how you can be prepared for the winter with clothing and accessories. Above are just some photos and examples of things you need to be ready for the cold winter. The way you dress in the winter is so important as not only can you get sick if you do not dress warm enough, but the cold will also dry out and often irritate any exposed skin so you need to make sure you really wrap up.
I love to wear my red bobble hat (definitely need this in more colours!) and all different scarves, cold hands are an obvious one but a cold head and neck is never good! Scarves and hats are my favourite warm winter accessories, I couldn't be without them!
I also love to wear thick tights with my boots in the winter time when jeans just won't do. Sometimes I'm just not feeling jeans or leggings and I just want to wear a dress or skirt, so for these times I wear thick tights, usually with socks as well with my boots to stay extra warm, while still feeling girly and stylish.
I'm going to sound like your Mum now but please, if you're going out in the cold, for god's sake wear a coat! It makes me feel like a bloody penguin just looking at girls in flimsy cardigans in place of a coat in the winter so I can't stand to think how they must feel! A good warm coat (or three) is essential in the winter.
Jumpers! Need I say more? Who doesn't love a cosy knitted jumper in the cold eh? Particularly when it's paired with some gorgeous jewellery to glam it up a bit! Why not tryDiamonqueensland.com.au?
A few other things I definitely think are essential in the winter are slippers, thick socks and cosy pajamas. My family don't tend to leave the heating on all night so waking up in the morning is unbearable if i'm not wearing cosy pjs and fuzzy socks! If you're in the UK Primark always do fantastic pjs and slippers and they're so so cheap too!
And lastly, for all my British ladies (and probably other places too!) an Umbrella, everyone knows that the winter (and autumn and spring and summer) comes with a hell of a lot of rain so I bring an umbrellaeverywherein my bag. You can get brollies that fold up so tiny now so there's really no excuse not to have one!
So I hope this was helpful, let me know if you have any requests for posts!
