健康与健身:我最喜欢的免费锻炼视频

Hi lovelies, another health and fitness post for you all today! If you read my last gym/ fitness routine, you'll know that I love the gym (by gym, I mean my gym at home, as I have cardio machines in my home gym), however simply running on a treadmill or cycling on a stationary bike can not only get boring, but it can also get too easy if it's all you do every single day. By now, I feel like my general fitness is pretty good (nowhere near expert but pretty decent for me!) so I do tend to get used to workouts quite quickly, so while I may be out of breath after 45 minutes on the treadmill at 20 minutes on the bike, it doesn't always feel like a challenge. While these workouts obviously do do me good, they aren't necessarily helping me to get stronger and better, unless I increase timing/ intensity. So, on the days where I'm just not feeling the treadmill, but still want to challenge myself, I tend to turn to workout videos. These videos are almost like having a personal trainer there with you! (Although, I don't think you can beat the real thing and if you are in the market for aLondon Based Personal Trainer绝对要查看正确的道路健身,这是为那些需要更多指导的人开始真正的教练!)

Fitness Blender has to be one of my favourite fitness accounts on Youtube, infact probably my all time favourite. The routines are fun, easy to follow and straight to the point. Most of their workouts use absolutely no equipment, so I used to do these all the time before I had any cardio equipment or access to the gym. Now I try to do a couple a week to mix up my workout routine. This one in particular is a great one to start out with, it's a fairly simple fat burning cardio routine. It's 37 minutes, but it is fairly intense, however just how intense depends on how hard you want to work!

I absolutely love pairing this Kickboxing Workout with the Millie Mackintosh workout above, as it's not quite as draining as the Millie Workout, but it will make you sweat in a fairly short amount of time. As with the other Fitness Blender vids I've shared, this includes a warm up and cool down, preventing injury. This video is great because it works your entire body without the need for any equipment.


Another of my favourite Fitness channels on Youtube is Tone It Up, Karena and Katrina are super gorgeous and so much fun and I find watching ladies who lookgood working out super motivating. This video is fairly short, but it's a HIIT workout, meaning it's slightly brutal! Again, this is another one that I'd probably pair with another video (though probably not right after!) or with some light cardio later in the day, but for building stamina, this is perfect. It's been made to be used in your own living room, so all you need to get started is your sofa, no really!

我的Top Tips:

- I enter all my workouts and exercise into the My Fitness Pal app, as you have to put in your gender, age, height and weight, it calculates more accurately how many calories you've burned. This is also good to keep in mind when you're working out on cardio equipment too, as the calorie count isn't always accurate.

So, we've explained where I workout and when I workout, now all that's left is to explain如何I workout. As I said previously, I don't stick to anything too structured, I do what I feel my body needs, and switch it up whenever I feel like it. However, I do think some structure is good and in a week, I tend to do 3 days of intense cardio and 2 days of lighter cardio and strength training. Like I always say in these posts, this is what works for me personally and I am in no way a professional.

So, to elaborate, on the days where I feel like I can push myself, I train. These are my three days of intense cardio. On these days, I'll warm up by fast walking, then jogging for around 10 minutes, then push myself as hard as I can on the treadmill and stationary bike for around an hour, then cool down again by jogging. Generally, on these days, this is all I'd do as it's quite intense and I try to up the pace every couple of weeks or so, this way I make progress rather than just sticking to the same routine, which can get boring. On the other two days or three days in the week, I'll do light cardio, so fast walking or jogging on a slightly higher incline on the treadmill, or on a low resistance setting on the bike. I'll then follow this up with weight training, sometimes squats with weights, lunges etc. I'm not personally into heavy weight training, so light/ medium weights along with aerobic exercise for half an hour is plenty for me on these days. I'll then take a day or two as rest days, which I'll talk more about when I get into the actual tips.

As I say, this is my personal routine that works for me, it may work for some of you, it may not, it's just something I've been asked about before and thought I'd share! To sum up, that's 3 days of intense cardio and 2 or 3 days of light cardio and strength training. Now I'm going to share a few of my personal fitness tips with you guys. These are a just a few things I've learnt along the way and things that I think some of you may find helpful.

However, if you find a time that works for you, even if it's just weekends or days off to begin with, you're much more likely to stick to it, as you're doing it at a convinient time and not forcing it into your daily routine.

Find a routine that you enjoy.

Therefore the treadmill is my solution, I enjoy it and it's in the comfort of my own home - no judgey strangers in sight. I also really enjoy the station bike, I love doing squats, lunges, crunches and other aerobic exercise. I actually enjoy my routine, which is why I stick to it and do it regularly. Perhaps if running and cycling isn't your thing, maybe swimming is, or dance or perhaps some sort of team sport. Whatever your thing is, find it anddo它。如果您实际上喜欢锻炼,那么您会更加努力地推动自己,并从中获得更多收益。

Don't rely on others.

I've said again and again in this post that I don't believe in sticking to strict routines, however I do believe in consistency. To be honest, I think the key to a good fitness regime and healthy lifestyle is consistency. Yes, there will be days when you're busy from 7am to 11pm, or you may be sick, or perhaps you're just not feeling it and that's absolutely fine and normal, however,总是pick yourself back up the next day, or week and get yourself back on track ASAP. The longer you go without a workout, the harder it is to get back into your routine afterwards.

Have active rest days.
It's important to have rest days, particularly when you're just starting out with fitness, to avoid burning yourself out. However, I personally believe you should be active as often as possible. Perhaps just getting out for a walk on a rest day, or even dance around your bedroom for a bit! We all enjoy a duvet day now and then, but being entirely inactive and not getting up and moving at all on every single rest day may make it harder for you to get back into routine again. Personally, I generally plan my 'rest day' on a day when I have got work, as opposed to a Sunday or another day off, because even though I won't be hitting the treadmill or weights on that day. I know I will still be somewhat active at work. The I can just look forward to a chilled evening in front of the tv when I get home!

FITSPIRATION #3

Leading on from my last tip, working out with someone else is definitely a fantastic way to keep motivated. I've recently started to play tennis with my boyfriend as an extra workout during the week. It keeps me motivated for two reasons. The first being the obvious, it's so much fun! Working out with someone else makes it all the more enjoyable and secondly, if you bail, you're letting them down as well as yourself! If that's not motivation I don't know what is ;)

FITSPIRATION #1

I know it can be a little hard to get motivated to eat right, exercise, etc etc. So I'm going to give you all a few hints and tips to get motivated!

Forgetful?

If, like many people (including me sometimes, I am human after all!) you just simply find it hard to get motivated, don't stress. There are simple ways to motivate yourself to get up and get on with it!

I know that when I don't exercise/ don't eat fruits and veggies/ do nothing, in a day, I lie in bed at night regretting it. No one ever regrets a workout, you'll just regret when you don't.

Treat Yourself
If you're someone who needs something more to motivate them, write a rewards list, starting slow. If I work out for 5 days in a row, I can buy a new Barry M Nail polish, if I work out 10 days in a row with a maximum of 1 day off, I can buy a new MAC Lipstick, etc etc etc. This works for everything, not just exercise! For example - Get my five a day everyday for a week - New top. It works! Sometimes when I want to get myself something, I set little tasks like these and tell myself I can only have it once I've done them.
